ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Alise Cua was born in Bucharest, Romania behind the Iron Curtain. Her family sought political asylum to the USA when she was 10 years old. Having spent her formative years living in a Communist regime, Alise had the unique opportunity to bridge an enormous cultural and political gap. Consequently, her perspective and appreciation for our freedoms as Americans runs deep, and permeates her work.

She began photographing as a child, and continued to do so for friends and family for many years. Alise started in front of the camera as a young girl and has been involved in the fashion and advertising industries on some level since.

A two time graduate of The Ohio State University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Doctorate from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Alise worked as a veterinary doctor, then left the practice of medicine to work for Merck and Co, and finally on to pursue more creative paths in her love of the visual and performing arts.

Alise launched a successful commercial photography business. She is creative director and photographs for Atlanta’s top modeling agencies, artists, musicians and writers, advertising campaigns, and works with various organizations to develop branding from concept to copy. She is in the midst of co-authoring a children’s book with her husband Joseph.

Alise has been invited to chronicle high-profile political events and to tell the photographic story in her unique style. She describes herself as a pictorial biographer of people. Her aspirations include being a dancer,-yes, that’s right-and continuing to unfold fabulous stories of interesting people. The artist sees her God-given talents as a means to fulfill her life purpose.

She currently resides in Milton, GA with her three young children, three dogs, four chickens, a rooster, and a patient husband.
